This second in the series of slides taken from the Official Opening of the school extension in 1983 is composed mostly of a school tour to London in 1982 which coincided with the visit of Pope John Paul II to England. End of Extension Opening 1983 & London Tour 1982

The blog is both proud and excited to present the first in a series of 2 batches of slides which it is felt indicate the official grand opening of the Togher School extension circa 1983. Intermittent samples of unrelated photographs are included as they were found. The presence of a television camera mounted on an elevated stand means that perhaps the national Broadcaster RTE filmed the occasion! This means it is in the Film Archives somewhere! Readily identifiable throughout this first showcase are President Hilary? , Mr. Peter Barry T.D. , several Teachers and a cast of thousands! Please help if you can , in naming as many of those captured on slide over 30 years ago!
